Sad news.
At the last minute, the drop-off sites for Bountiful Baskets pulled out due to politics. Never mind that we are trying to help the community and make a positive difference. This means we will have one drop-off site, where we have done drop-off since day one.
Bountiful Baskets needs us, and we will show up for each other and the community.
Donation Drop-Off Opens At 11 a.m.
Please enter between Starbucks and McDonald’s, follow the curve of the road past Aldi, and then head to the dental office. There, our amazing volunteers will be ready to grab things out of your car. Then you can head out to wherever you would like to park for the protest.
The donation site will open at 11 a.m.! This way, I am hoping to alleviate some of the congestion right around protest time.
Are you one of our amazing volunteers? Show up at 11 with your vests, come talk to me, and then we will spread out.
Please read last week’s message from me on where not to park.
It Is Exhausting. I Get It.
Every time I think that the regime can’t go any lower, they take us down even further. Laws are ignored. People’s rights are trampled on.
To me, the biggest thing is the hypocrisy of it all. The same people who would scream about President Biden being too old or “sleepy” are not bothered by how Trump is falling asleep in every meeting. The people screaming about how Democrats waste money are not fighting against the ballroom from hell, the planes and statues, and all the other things, including a now-broken reflecting pool.
Those people who years ago had the big “Don’t Tread on Me” flags are now having their privacy taken away and are watching the Constitution being trampled on—and are doing nothing.
I keep pointing out that if you would not be happy if “the other side” made a law or decision, but you are for it when your party does, then that is hypocritical. I see a lot of that right now. People say that because Trump is doing something, it is okay, even though they would have been against it if Biden had done it.
It is exhausting. The last two years’ constant onslaught on our rights, values, and intelligence has been overwhelming, and we are all tired.
I get it. I am there with you. My brain goes WTH on a daily basis as I try to make sense of what is happening around me.
On Saturday, We Stand Together
On Saturday, let’s all get together with the people who do get it. The people who are also fighting. Let’s join as a community with people all over the USA who are not willing to let this be the new normal.
Medicare and Medicaid cuts are still coming. January and beyond is when many new laws will take effect that will hurt even more people. We are all going to need to help each other to get through this.
On Saturday, we get to help by giving food, diapers, and other necessities to our local community so that a parent can spend a little less on food that month and put that money toward the rising electrical bill or help pay a medical bill so that they can continue to get medications.
After dropping off donations, we then get to stand together as one, stand up against the cruelty of the regime, and stand next to each other in solidarity.
You can look around you and realize YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
We are not alone.
We are the resistance, and we will not stop.
See you Saturday.
