November 3 is getting closer, and the pressure is building. I was lucky enough to attend a meeting with Ellie Krug and Attorney General Keith Ellison. The next day, I attended the League of Women Voters forum for people running for school board. Both meetings showed me again how pivotal these elections are. Keith Ellison talked about fraud, election integrity, and holding people accountable.
We are preparing for the October 17 No Kings protest. It will be from 1 to 2:30 at our usual spot, and I really hope this will be the last time we need to do this. We are also having a food drive, and I hope we surpass last year’s donations. As you all know, everything is expensive, and people are not able to make ends meet anymore.
I am firming up the locations where you can drop off food that day and will post them as soon as I know. I have added the list of items most needed by Bountiful Baskets.
Parking: Do not park in the Hazeltine Center parking lot. They have made it very clear that if any of us do, they will call the towing company immediately.
If you are not aware, there are Flock cameras in Chaska. Four of them are in the Home Depot parking lot, and they also look into the parking lots of surrounding businesses. The image below shows you where they are. If you want to avoid them, I suggest you park far away. Or you can do what I do and just drive by them and give them the finger.
Doug Chapin, Dan Kessler, Joe Brothers, Chrissy Ahola, and others will be at the protest. They have worked long and hard, and this final stretch is brutal. The GOP is pulling out all the stops, even here in Carver County, to try to stop any of them from winning. When you see our amazing candidates, let them know we believe in them!
If you volunteered at one of our protests before, please come early with your vest on the big day! We need people at each food drive collection point to help get donations out of cars and into the bins. We also need volunteers to greet people, watch for any issues, and help anyone who is not familiar with our protest know what’s what.
Want to help but haven’t before? Come this Saturday to grab a vest and talk to us!
I want to take a moment and tell you that you are all so amazing. Some of you have not missed a single protest. The team has shown up rain or shine, even in a windchill of -20. Kim has provided everything from water to coffee to snacks. Max and Joel have kept up our spirits with the cowbell and singing. Charlie, Al, Scott, and Dan have done security and made sure all of us are safe. Jen and Dave have greeted each person, and Dave and his sons have been taking care of the sign library for many months now. Paul and Jen also take great pictures, and I love seeing them!
They are not the only volunteers, and none of this can happen without all of you. You are the heart and soul of this movement. Please remember in the next few weeks and months what you have accomplished. We have built a community, donated food and money, and stood up for others. I just want to point out that I have not seen the regime do this. They are not having food drives or building anything except maybe gold statues.
See you Saturday, and please help spread the word about the 17th. Let’s make this one the biggest, and hopefully the last big one!

The Chaska protestors and NO KINGS are a lifeline for me during this terrible time of Trump, MAGA, ICE, Billionaires ops, and government corruption by Trump and his supporters. It is so good to be among people who know what our country should be. I will volunteer on October 17 as a greeter. I have a vest. Will you send me an email?
