Racism On Display At Turning Point USA
You may have heard last Wednesday about the St. Thomas student who went viral for shouting “Go back to your own country, bitch” to a protester as she was entering a Turning Point USA event on the University of Minnesota campus.
Someone captured her racist vitriol on camera, the video went viral, and now, well, she’s suffering the consequences.
It should come as little surprise that our little racist felt perfectly comfortable shouting slurs at this particular organization’s event. Turning Point USA has yet to condemn the student’s behavior, by the way. And neither has Senator Julia Coleman, even though the incident occurred at the Turning Point USA campus affiliate she founded.
Shocking, I know.
Turning Point USA
Turning Point USA (TPUSA) and its political affiliate, Turning Point Action (TPA), have grown into influential institutions within the Trump-aligned MAGA movement. Their record includes documented campaign-finance enforcement, criminal conduct by a former TPA leader involving his own candidacy, an election fraud-related indictment of another leader, deceptive social-media activity linked to a contractor, and controversies over founder Charlie Kirk’s rhetoric and the Professor Watchlist.
The organization’s early emphasis on free markets and limited government broadened into culture-war campaigning and close alignment with Donald Trump. Sociologists Jeffrey Kidder and Amy Binder describe a campus organizing style that emphasized provocation and viral political content.
The organization was created to produce a pipeline of young MAGA ideologues.
The Julia Coleman Connection
And you know who was numero uno MAGA ideologue in Minnesota’s Turning Point USA? None other than incumbent Republican District 48 Senator Julia Coleman.
So aside from founding Turning Point USA, indoctrinating young minds, and making gobs of money to support the MAGA movement, what exactly were Charlie Kirk’s views?
Let’s be absolutely clear: NO ONE should be assassinated for their views, no matter how vehemently one disagrees with them. And there’s a lot to disagree with here.
Quotes By Charlie Kirk
Race & Civil Rights
Black Pilots
If I see a Black pilot, I’m gonna be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified.
Black Women
If we would have said that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks, we would have been called the racist. But now they’re coming out and they’re saying it for us. I’m only here because of affirmative action. Yeah, we know. You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously.
Civil Rights Act
Once a week we talk about why the Civil Rights Act was a mistake.
Women, Marriage & Family
Taylor Swift
This is something that I hope will make Taylor Swift more conservative. Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge.
Western Women
They end up at 38 years old with a big flat in London and they’re miserable. We should tell them to stop freezing their eggs and start finding their partner earlier and have lots of babies.
Comparing Abortion To The Holocaust
Absolutely I am. In fact, it’s worse.
Gun Violence
I think it’s worth it. I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment.
Separation Of Church & State
Again, there is no separation of church and state. It’s a fabrication. It’s a fiction. It’s not in the Constitution. It’s made up by secular humanists. Of course we should have church and state mixed together.
“Charlie Kirk Was My Mentor”
Senator Coleman has proudly and fondly discussed her relationship with Charlie Kirk.
She presents herself as just a moderate suburban mom. There is no question she is a mom.
A moderate? No self-respecting moderate would so wholeheartedly embrace the likes of Charlie Kirk.
Julia Coleman claims Charlie Kirk as her ideological soulmate.
Hard pass.
