You Showed Up. Now Keep Going.
Primary voters made their voices heard. Now the work turns to the general election.
You showed up!!
Thank you to all of you who voted! Voting went smoothly in Carver County and all across Minnesota. Chaska’s own — we do not claim him! — Republican candidate for governor, Mike Lindell, was defeated, but he is currently following the Trump playbook and saying the election results are false.
The next few weeks until the general election are crucial. We can defeat Trump’s stooge Emmer by voting for Doug Chapin!
We also have an important decision to make for Carver County sheriff. The choice is now between Barry and Heger, and I plan on inviting them to speak at the SW Protectors. I will let you know when that is set up.
In other local news, there is a plan to put another data center in Chaska. There are already three data centers in the West Creek Corporate Center, all of them much smaller than the one now being proposed.
This project is not a done deal, and we can put a stop to it. Please join the fight to stop this. Call your council members and the city!
Upcoming dates to know: No SW Protectors on August 18. We start again on September 1!
At the August 22 protest, we will be holding a school supply drive for Latino Voices, led by our own Joe Brothers, who is running for MN House District 48A.
Keep going, everyone! There is so much news, and so much of it is making us all frustrated and angry and sad, but we are fighting back and we are making a difference!
Do not give up. See you soon!
