Weather Won’t Stop Us: A Saturday of Community
Snow, solidarity, and a safe space for all.
A note from Judith:
Weather & Logistics
The forecast calls for snow on Saturday, but we’ll be ready for you with coffee, hot cocoa, and treats. David has put together a 8 tips for keeping warm this winter. Please park in the lot between Aldi and the dentist’s office. For safety, avoid the grassy route by Chipotle, it will likely be icy and slippery.
Safety Reminder
We ask everyone not to engage with agitators. Our team is trained to handle situations safely, and engagement can escalate risk, especially when we don’t know whether someone may be carrying a weapon.
If you notice suspicious behavior, notify us immediately and we will take appropriate action, including contacting the police if necessary.
Why We Gather
This has been a heavy week, with reports of expanded ICE operations in Minnesota affecting not only our Central and South American neighbors but also members of the Somali community.
As always, we meet to stand together in hope and solidarity.
Meet Our Weekly Regulars
I’d like to highlight some of the wonderful people who join us each week:
Yasmeen, part of our greeting team, comes to stand up for democracy, the Constitution, and women’s rights. She stays connected with Ukrainian soldiers and even protests in Waconia before joining us.
John V., a 78-year-old Vietnam veteran and founder of Veterans for Peace, has been protesting since the day he returned from Vietnam. Why does he join us in Chaska? “Because I am afraid we are losing our democracy. Take action before you lose it!”

Training Opportunity
There will be a Nonviolent Direct Action training on Sunday, December 7. Details are provided below.
Photos
Don’t forget to enjoy Paul’s photos from each week, and please add your own! We love seeing everyone’s perspectives.
