I mentioned last week that I would be working on updating my No Kings song for the upcoming protest on October 18.

I’ve also created short clip versions for you to download and share on social media to spread awareness of our event.
Why Video?
The reason I’m providing downloadable videos for you to share and not YouTube links is that every social media platform but Bluesky has what amounts to a link penalty.
If you provide a link in your social post to content that takes someone off the platform, not many people are likely to see that post.
Social media sites make money off advertising. Anything that takes a user off a social media platform reduces the amount of advertising inventory they have to sell.
Videos (or images) that are uploaded directly to Facebook or Instagram or TikTok or Reddit, etc., keep people on the site, so there’s no link penalty. Their algorithms also prefer video because videos keep people on the site for longer periods of time.
The videos have all the essential “Save the Date” information and are designed to raise awareness of both the next No Kings Day and to drive them to us to help boost our numbers.

You’ll find a bunch of different genres. Use whichever versions you think will most resonate with your audiences and add a personal note about why you’re attending.
