This Saturday & The Next No Kings
Also: Drinking Liberally & some easy ways you can advance the cause
Hello my fellow patriots,
A couple of things today:
Saturday’s protest
Sunday’s candidate forum
Next No Kings day
Some easy things to advance the cause
A note from Mike
Saturday’s Rally
I’m looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday from 1-2 pm [Map]. Let’s see if we can build on the 347 attendees we had last week…100 more?
We can do it. Bring family members. Bring a friend. Bring two friends. Twist some arms. Lay down some guilt trips. 😼
Sunday’s Candidate Forum
Remember, on Sunday the Congressional District 6 DFL is hosting a forum where you can meet candidates who want to unseat Congressman Emmer. There’s a registration link on the Events page.
Next No Kings Day
Save the date: October 18, 2025.
That’s the day Indivisible is planning for another nationwide No Kings rally.
We had 2,000+ people show up last time, on the same day the Hortmans were murdered. We expect and want more people to show up this time. Let’s set a goal of 3,000 people.
I will be creating an updated No Kings song you can use to spread the word. Here’s the video from the last time.
Easy Things to DO MORE!
A lot of us have been discussing what else we can do beyond attending our rallies. I’m planning on a separate post where we can share ideas.
In the meantime, here’s something you can do that you’re actually already doing: Engage with these emails we’re sending!
Open each one,
Click on links,
Forward it to people you think might be interested,
This is why these simple things are important: They all create signals of engagement that the Gmails and Outlooks and Yahoos use to determine whether or not our emails get sent to junk folders.
Those opens and clicks and forwards are digital hints that people find this content valuable and make it more likely that more people will see these emails.
Likewise, when you come to this site, “Like” the posts, share them elsewhere or “restack” them and, most importantly, comment on the posts.
These are reptuation signals that Substack’s algorithm uses to recommend our site to our site to others who would likely be most interested.
My profession is digital marketing. I’ve been doing it since the Jurassic Period, so I know a few things. I’ll plan on sharing tips here and there so you can help us expand our reach.
Great Turnout for Drinking Liberally
Hi everyone,
What an incredible kickoff to our new Drinking Liberally happy hour. It was amazing to see 45 of us there. A huge thank you to everyone who showed up (especially Judith who handled the hosting while I was away this week).
I’m glad to hear you rolled with the few hiccups that popped up. You all handled it like the happy warriors you are.
We definitely surprised The Bellows with our numbers but the owner, Robert, was a fantastic host and has already promised to be better prepared next time. He’s even rearranging some of their regular events to make sure we have plenty of space.
I've already got some ideas to make our future gatherings even more fun and engaging:
Movie nights,
Political and history trivia,
Sign-making parties before our next big protest on October 18th,
Guest speakers on interesting topics (not political candidates, but people with cool projects or stories—please let me know if you have any ideas),
Political bingo nights, and
Drawings for The Bellows gift certificates.
If you have any ideas, please send them my way.
Let’s keep this momentum going. Please continue to tell your friends and neighbors about our group. The more, the merrier!
I can't wait to see you all again at our next gathering.
Best,
Mike
This is all great info David! Let’s start building attendance and get the word out about October 18th everyone!
Hi all,
I'm the guy on the White Canam Spyder that you see buzzing back and forth on 41 hoping to keep everyone charged and pumped up. Let's show the MAGA cult that being Woke is a good thing and that we won't back down EVER until their Neon God is rotting in jail and shown for the conman drifter that he truly is
