Hi Everyone!
171 Happy Warriors showed up Saturday, despite the humidity and lightning earlier in the morning. Thank you all so much for coming out, and for those who are always with us in spirit!
Here’s a chart of the number of patriots who have shown up each week since June 7th. The spike is obviously due to the No Kings protest, where we had 2,300 defenders of democracy join us.
We average (when the No Kings numbers are excluded) 256 attendees each week. Let’s work to keep increasing that number every week!
Bring family and friends.
Invite your neighbors and co-workers.
Lots of you have been asking about when the next big national protest will be. There are always protests going on for all kinds of different issues, but the next big one is the Labor Day protest.
All the different groups will be banding together just like they did for "No Kings" and "Hands Off" to get some big crowds. Different groups might be protesting on different days and at different times, but in Chaska, we'll stick to our usual Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until you're ready to head home.
Unfortunately, I won't be at the Labor Day protest because I'll be in Michigan with my family. However, I will be attending a local protest while I'm there!
One of our yellow vest volunteers, Kim, will be posting the Chaska Labor Day protest on Mobilize. You do not need to register—you're already included!
But if you know others who want to get out there and make their voices heard, you can ask them sign up for this newsletter at SWCrier.com!
Speaking of changes, we'd like to add some fun stats to our weekly summary of the Saturday protest. We already count our attendees, but we thought it would also be fun and inspiring to count a few other things:
Number of cars honking and/or waving
Number of "fingers" or thumbs down
Number of cars holding up phones to video and take pictures of our protest
Number of “neutral” cars
However unscientific it is, this will at least give us some insight into the effect we may be having on passers-by. Are the number of supportive cars increasing? Are the number of negative cars decreasing?
We'll be using donations to buy some inexpensive counters. Now we need some volunteers who would be willing to count these things for us. If you'd like to help the cause by clicking, please either email me or let us know in the comments.
Thanks!
