Gratitude for Our Growing Circle
A quiet thank you to the loudest voices for justice
Hi, neighbors:
This Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to thank all of you who’ve turned patriotic concern into civic action, and helped build something pretty special here in the Southwest Metro.
To those who brave the elements every week in Chaska and Waconia, holding signs and holding space: Your presence is a beacon. You show that peaceful protest isn’t just an event; it’s a habit, a value, and a declaration that our country and our community belongs to all of us.
To the folks who come to Drinking Liberally: Thank you for making room at the table for big ideas, respectful debate, and some much-needed laughter. You’re building democratic muscle, and a few friendships, one chat at a time.
To our newsletter subscribers: Every time you read, like, share, or comment, you’re helping this little town square echo farther. You’re helping neighbors find each other, find this community, and find the courage to stand up and speak out.
And to our incredible volunteers:
The ones ensuring security,
Those greeting newcomers and answering questions,
Those bringing signs and managing supplies,
Those guiding parking and calming nerves,
Those handing our water or serving hot drinks, and
The incredible Judith making who makes it all run smoothly.
You are the reason this work feels joyful instead of heavy. You are the ones who prove that organizing can be safe, strategic, and fun.
This isn’t performative politics. This is real community and active citizenship. It’s what democracy depends on.
From the bottom of my heart: Thank you!
For showing up.
For caring.
For fighting for a better tomorrow.
With gratitude and hope,
David
