The Sound You Hear Is The Cracking Of Trump's Support
And dissent is as American as apple pie. It's what Americans do.
It is easy to lose sight of the overall picture amidst the daily barrage of transgressions, corruptions, and constitutional offenses flooding out of the trump administration and MAGA.
So let’s take a step back and take notice.
At the beginning of September, Kentucky Republican Congressman Thomas Massie filed a discharge petition to force a House vote on the release of the Epstein Files.
In mid-September, Texas Republican Ted Cruz said Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr’s strong-arming of ABC and Disney to pull Jimmy Kimmel off the air was “unbelievably dangerous” and compared the threat to that of a mafia boss.
We saw how that turned out after people started cancelling their Disney+ subscrioptions en masse.
Broville podcaster Joe Rogan has turned against the trump administration’s mass deportations and so has Georgia Republican Congresswoman and MAGA stalwart Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Oklahoma’s Republican Governor Kevin Stitt opposed sending one state’s National Guard to another state when that state’s governor has not requested them, as Texas has done by sending their National Guard troops to Chicago.
Trump’s tariff’s are going to bankrupt American farmers. China, our biggest buyer of soy beans, has ceased purchase of American soy and instead is getting their soy from Argentina. And now the president is even bailing out Argentia to the tune of $20 billion, undermining farmers’ markets even further, while shutting down the government. What say you, Rep. Finstad? Rep. Fischbach?
Carver County, by the way, produces 58 bushels per acre of soybeans [PDF] (the Minnesota average is 51).
When you’ve lost right-wing lunatic Laura Loomer…
MIT just rejected a proposal by the trump administration that would trade preferential treatment on federal funding for far-reaching changes.
Airports are refusing to show Kristi Noem’s propaganda video blaming Democrats for the Republican government shutdown.
Reporters from all but one news outlet (even Fox News and Newsmax!) that covers the Pentagon refused to sign Hegseth’s loyalty pledge to not obtain unauthorized material and restrict access to certain areas unless accompanied by an official.
Everyday citizens in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Chicago and Portland are making it clear they oppose the deployment of our nation’s military in their communities.
And one of my favorites, veterans are posting photos of themselves in uniform on social media, saying “this is me in my antifa uniform.”
So, when you hear Minnesota Congressman and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer smear his own constituents as hating America, what you’re hearing is fear.
They see the same cracks in their and trump’s support as we see. They recognize that Americans overwhelmingly hate what they are doing.
They need to smear us because they see what is coming. The patriots turning out to defend our country in the largest ever protests in our nation’s histories will be an unavoidable indictment of their rule.
What y’all are doing by coming out every Saturday, and all the quite acts you take the rest of the week, is working. Saying NO in our collective voice is working.
So we press on because we’re in it for the long haul.
I’m so proud of the work of you all in Chaska! I have only been able to be at two Saturdays but I am with you all in spirit. I was heartened by this post calling out Fischbach and Emmer. They need to know that they can become the difference. They can choose the right side of history.
so proud of Chaska. thank you for your dedication to our country and our community
