Chilly Afternoon, Warm Hearts
Hot cocoa, handmade signs, and one inflatable frog
A note from Judith:
It was brisk this Saturday, but our team brought hot coffee, cocoa, whipped cream, and plenty of treats for everyone to enjoy.
In total, 280 people, one (inflatable) frog, and three dogs showed up to thank veterans, offer hope, and stand up for what they believe in. I even got to try out a heated folding chair (they have them at Costco), and another person stayed cozy in a heated vest.
In Waconia, 20 people showed up, and that group has now started a weekly food drive. Our team is also planning additional food drives and possibly a toy drive. I’ll share updates as soon as we have more information.
While I was at the food distribution event, I learned that the free Monday meal hosted by St. John’s Church in Chaska serves about 400 meals each week. Let that sink in: 400 meals!
If your sign is looking a little dull, or if there are other causes you want to stand up for, join us for a sign-making get-together on November 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the Wilder Room at the Chanhassen Library. Bring your own supplies to decorate, update, or create new signs, or bring extras to share. I’ll bring some materials as well.

It will be a fun evening to connect, share ideas, craft new slogans, and get creative together.
Thank you again to our incredible team for setting up, cleaning up, encouraging, and protecting everyone.
