Built Different: A Community Update
Victories, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming events
A Note From Judith:
SW Protectors Update
At the last SW Protectors meeting, 56 of you showed up to hear Grecia from Latino Voices. When we learned that the Carver County Sheriff had decided to abandon his pursuit of a contract with ICE, the cheering was so loud we nearly brought the restaurant down.
This decision is a huge win, and I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make it happen. You showed up at Carver County Board of Commissioners meetings, spoke to Commissioners, collected petition signatures…and it worked. Your work paid off.
Please remember that: you can make a difference.

Closing Thoughts
People all across Minnesota are coming together to fight oppression and protect their friends and neighbors. Folks are blowing whistles, collecting food and supplies, and documenting what this regime is doing. That takes courage and grit.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed. It’s easy to try to ignore what’s happening. But Minnesotans don’t do easy.
We’re used to blazing summers and freezing winters. We shovel snow in shorts, do polar plunges, and sit on buckets in the middle of frozen lakes to fish.
All these agents coming in from other states are learning something fast: We’re built different.
Welcome to the resistance.
