A note from Judith:
3,500 of you showed up in all your glory with signs, costumes, inflatables, musical instruments and your voices. The energy and hope was amazing.
I want to thank each one of you for being there. For showing up. You showed up with kids and dogs. You showed up with walkers and in wheelchairs. You showed up and that is so wonderful.
A special thank you goes out to all our amazing volunteers. Without them this protest would not have been a success. They worked very hard!
By the end Max had lost his voice, out feet hurt and we were all tired and the volunteers all deserve the greatest thank you for helping this big event happen.
A thank you also goes out to the Chaska Police Department, who had three squad cars looking out for us.
So Now What?
We can’t stop. The only way to make a change happen is with consistent sustained effort.
Show up to more protests (we are rally every Saturday from 1 to 2 pm, same place) or come to our events with Drinking Liberally [details] (and no, you do not have to drink!).
Organize with your neighbors and friends or join larger organizations. Emmer is ignoring us and I am afraid contacting him is not having an effect but you can help by voting him out, listening to the people who are running for office and standing behind them.
I know so many of you took pictures. I ask that you upload them all to our shared Google Photos to share them. Send them all!
I will also be posting the drone videos by tonight or Monday so you can see how big we were!
Thank you again. This is what democracy looks like!
Judith
What JOY to stand in solidarity with my neighbors to fight against this authoritarian regime. Keep the faith and protect our democracy ❣️
Thank you for all you do! See you on Tuesday !!!
